"Our Friendly Neighborhood Bank- Take a look, notice if this happens to you and change your ban

%26quot;Our Friendly Neighborhood Bank%26quot;

A practice, our neighborhood bank has extended themselves into is the %26quot;payday loan%26quot; venue, which although they are loath to admit practicing, is in effect, the exact same thing as the corporations who really do involve themselves in the %26quot;payday loan%26quot; venue. Your friendly %26quot;storefront%26quot; (that is what banks refer the branches as now, run by a %26quot;store manager%26quot;) also, not to your by permission, extends %26quot;payday%26quot; loans. It occurs on no minimum amount accounts, and or linked checking-savings accounts. The bank, loading up the preset or web bill pay demands to the same day of your automatic deposit paycheck. The customer, who thinks he or she covered the check last week, falls victim to the internet pay demand from the 3rd party, say the electric or gas company. Then, you who have a %26quot;positive%26quot; balance, suddenly notices that all your bills are paid first, then you deposit is made, then %26quot;fees%26quot; deducted. Keep an %26quot;operating amount aside%26quot;, to remain safe.

%26quot;Our Friendly Neighborhood Bank- Take a look, notice if this happens to you and change your banking habits.

I had this happen to me a number of years ago. It happened once and I called the bank about it. I spoke with a customer service rep, and unsatisfied, spoke with a supervisor. At the time I also had direct deposit to this bank. So here I am with what amounts to a check that is hitting the bank on an empty account so I take a paycheck advance offered by my bank. Only the check hits the bank 5 minutes before midnight and the paycheck advance doesn't hit until midnight. So know I am hit by a fee from the bank and the person I wrote the check to, right? If you talk to the right person they will waive the bank fees, but this is one of the worst scams that banks have come up with. Not only do you pay an arm and a leg for this, it won't save you either. And you end up doing it more often than not, because your paycheck ends up going to cover your advance, not what you need to pay.

Is there any ligmit lenders out there?

I am of need of a big size loan and i am not willing to let these people from Uk or other countries scam me . Is there any one in the United States (Not Canada) that will lend me the money?

I jnow if someone would lend me the money I could pay off some bills ( instead of payday loans ) I will be able to pay them off in full Please give good advice

Is there any ligmit lenders out there?

There are plenty of legitimate lenders. NONE of them will reply to this, or any YA question by offering you a loan. Doing so would violate Yahoo's Community Guidelines. Violating the rules is your first sign they are not legitimate.

Is there any ligmit lenders out there?

Have you tried banking companies themself out here in the US? There is Wells Fargo, Bank Of America, Chase. Etc. Look them up online.

Investing in a Pay Day Loan Business?

Would you put your money in a PayDay loan business as an investor ( passive one). There are companies I have seen and they advertise 5%-15% ROR a month for blokes who send them 20K.

What is the deal with these? They seem to be legit and have offices and storefronts and all.

Would you put your money in there? Outside of moral/ethical considerations and all, is this a good investment financially

speaking?

Investing in a Pay Day Loan Business?

When you invest, it's not the industry as much as the people you're giving money to. Are the people of this company reputable? Do they have a good track record? Anyone can show you large numbers, do they have character?

As far as the payday industry, my company provides payday loan software: http://introxl.com/. This is a $15b/year industry.

Just some insight, the reason why payday loan companies search out private equity is because it's hard for banks to lend money to companies that lend money to people they would never lend money to. I also have a background in commercial banking.

If you want to learn more about the industry, you can check out a few of the publicly held payday companies. Their 10ks give a lot of good information. I like using Yahoo Finance:

EZCORP Inc. (EZPW), Advance America (NYSE: AEA), Dollar Financial (Nasdaq: DLLR), Cash America's (NYSE: CSH).

Anything that says you will get 5%-15% return per month is a scam

Avoid it at all costs.

Just checking on legalities....?

I have a bunch of payday loans out right now. I am standing facing a train wreck, and I am tied to the tracks. I tried to get a loan to pay for it, but I have high risk credit, and no assets, so I cant pay them off all in one lump sum. Can I put a %26quot;stop check%26quot; on the checks to payday loan places. I cant afford to pay them, and I dont want my bank account to get entirely screwed up. Is it legal for me to put a stop on the checks through my payday loans?? Help!

Just checking on legalities....?

It is probably okay to put stop payments on the checks, but they will come after you for the money sooner or later, and at my bank it is like 20 bucks to stop payment on a check. Good Luck

Bankruptcy?

After going to debt counseling,I had no option left except to file a chapter 7. Listed with my debtors are 2 payday loans,2 weeks prior to filing,I took out a payday loan for $175,yes it was stupid, but food on the table seem more important at the time.I called and informed them, that I had to retain a lawyer, and was informed that when I signed the contract I would not be filing bankruptcy within 30 days, and my attorney was a personel friend.I did not plan on filing, all other options were used up.Can and will this effect my bankruptcy? Also, the 2nd payday loan I borrowed from is a prominent member of the community, and told me he would get his $ one way or the other, even if it ment following my butt all the way up the court house steps.I am a emotional wreck! The stress of the bankruptcy has taken it's toll, and now this.I will call my attorney on Mon.,but if anyone could help relieve some of this emotional roller coaster,I would deeply appreciate it!

Bankruptcy?

I wouldn't worry about it. Try and calm down. Of course they are going to put pressure on you. They want their money. They are hoping you will just pay them to get rid of them and forget about including it in the bankruptcy.

Let them follow you to court. The court will decide if it can go into the bankrupcty or not.

One of the great things about bankruptcy is that the debtors by law are no longer allowed to contact you. They can only contact your laywer. So, if they keep harassing and bugging you, they themselves are the ones that will find themselves facing a lawsuit, not you. If they contact you, just say, Please call... and give them the lawyer name and number. Then call the lawyer and let them know you were contacted again.

Just remember that they are only debt collectors.. They can't do anything to you. They are just trying to rattle you and it is working. Just ignore their threats and remember that your lawyer is there to handle them.

Good Luck!

Bankruptcy?

If anybodys threatens you to get money, then its against the law. any bill you list that you want in bankruptcy will be included. Tell your attornry that you were threaten because he know the law.

My brother didn't claim bankruptcy but the creditor from his car loan threathen him to get money and he was able to get the bill off his credit because he broke the law.

once you claim bankruptcy they are not suppose to bother you.

My credit is not perfect. I need to get a loan but I don't want to get a payday loan.?

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

My credit is not perfect. I need to get a loan but I don't want to get a payday loan.?

If you own yor own home you can refinance and pull cash out to pay off your credit card bill and raise your credit score dramatically. I work for United Lenders Group and I work with over 45 different banking companies so I could get you a mortgage loan no matter how bad your credit is or how much in debt you may be

If you have a savings account you can probably get a loan against it. Or you can get a cash advance on your credit card. Can you get a loan from your employer and pay it back a little each paycheck?
